Introduction to VRTrust

Overview of VRTrust Accounting Software for Short-Term Rentals

Welcome to VRTrust. This article provides a high-level overview of the platform—what it does, how it’s structured, and what you can expect as you get started.

VRTrust is designed to help short-term rental operators save time, reduce complexity, and produce accurate financials for both owners and property managers.

What Is VRTrust?

VRTrust is the first stand-alone accounting platform built specifically for the short-term rental industry.

It includes:

  • A full general ledger

  • Native support for trust accounting

  • Automated reservation, deposit, and payment workflows

  • Owner and property management financial reporting

Everything you would normally do in a traditional accounting system—record reservations, track expenses, reconcile banks, and generate statements—happens directly inside VRTrust, purpose-built for vacation rentals.

Trust Accounting Focus

VRTrust is built to support trust accounting, meaning:

  • Guest funds are tracked separately from operating funds

  • Trust balances are clearly visible

  • Money received from guests is tracked until it is paid out to owners or the property manager

Currently, VRTrust focuses on tracking your trust account, ensuring accurate handling of guest funds you are responsible for distributing.
