Does VRTrust support manual journal entries?

VRTrust has no manual journal entry feature. To reclassify revenue or expenses on a reservation, use financial adjustments posted via the reservation — the accounts are driven by the PMS line types you select.

Short answer: No. VRTrust does not have a "manual journal entry" feature. If you're used to another accounting system where you'd post a manual journal entry to move revenue or expenses around, in VRTrust you do this with financial adjustments (including line reclassifications) posted directly on the reservation.

How to reclassify revenue or expenses

To change how an amount is categorized on a reservation, open the reservation drawer and use one of the following, rather than looking for a journal entry screen:

The accounts are driven by line types, not free-form entry

A key difference from a manual journal entry: you do not pick debit and credit accounts by hand. The general ledger accounts used by an adjustment are determined by the line type you select. Each line type is mapped to the correct account(s), so choosing the line type is what drives where the amount posts — there is no free-form account selection.

This is by design. Posting through line types on the reservation keeps the trust and operating ledgers balanced, keeps owner statements accurate, and preserves consistency with your reservation mappings. Reclassifying or adjusting on a single reservation only affects that reservation — it does not change your global reservation mappings or any other reservation.

  • VRTrust has no manual journal entry feature.

  • To reclassify revenue or expenses on a reservation, use a financial adjustment (or line reclassification) posted via the reservation.

  • The accounts used are driven by the line type selected, not by manually choosing accounts.
