Calendar blocking allows owners to block specific dates on their calendar to prevent new reservations from being booked. When enabled, calendar blocks will sync between VRTrust and your Property Management System (PMS), keeping listing availability accurate across systems.
Important:
Currently this feature is only available to Guesty users
Calendar blocking must be enabled in your Owner Portal settings.
How Owners Block Calendar Dates
When calendar blocking is enabled, owners can block dates directly from their Owner Portal.
From the Owner Portal, owners can:
Add calendar blocks for future dates
Label blocks (for example, Maintenance Days)
View existing reservations, including:
Guest name
Booking amount
Reservation status (Booked, Paid, or Canceled)
Blocked dates prevent new reservations from being booked for those days.
How Property Managers Block Dates on an Owner’s Behalf
Property managers can also manage calendar blocks using the Owner Portal Preview.
Step-by-step:
Navigate to the Owners page in VRTrust.
Select the owner.
Click the ellipsis (⋯) menu.
Choose Owner Portal from the dropdown to open the Owner Portal preview.
From the calendar view, click Block calendar dates.
Select future dates to block
Dates must not already contain a reservation.
(Optional) Add a label, such as Maintenance Days.
Click Submit.
Once submitted:
The dates are blocked in VRTrust
The block syncs to your PMS
No new reservations can be booked for those dates
Removing Calendar Blocks
Calendar blocks can be removed directly from VRTrust using the same calendar view. Once removed, availability will update and sync back to the PMS.
What This Means for Owners
Calendar blocking gives owners more visibility and control over their property’s availability while ensuring:
No accidental bookings during blocked periods
Clear visibility into reservation details
Accurate syncing between VRTrust and the PMS
