VRTrust lets property managers preview the Owner Portal exactly as an owner sees it. This is helpful for reviewing statements, confirming settings, and answering owner questions with confidence. You can preview the portal before you invite an owner, while their invite is pending, or after they've accepted.
Before You Start
You can preview the portal for any owner who isn't archived. This includes owners you haven't invited yet and owners who haven't accepted their invite.
You stay signed in as yourself. The preview doesn't sign you in as the owner.
How to Preview the Owner Portal
Go to the Owners page in VRTrust.
Click the ellipsis (⋯) menu next to the owner.
Select Preview owner portal.
The owner's portal opens in a new browser tab. A banner at the top shows which owner you're previewing and that changes are disabled.
Exiting the Preview
Click the X (Exit preview) in the banner. The tab returns to the Owners list with that owner selected.
How Long a Preview Lasts
A preview lasts one hour. After that, the tab shows a message with a Restart preview button. Click it to start a new preview of the same owner.
What You Can View in the Owner Portal Preview
From the preview, you can see exactly what the owner has access to, including:
Owner Statements
All available owner statements (you can view the PDF or download the CSV)
Statement summaries for selected periods
Calendar (if enabled)
A calendar view showing reservations and availability
Calendar access depends on your Owner Portal settings
Reservations (if enabled)
Reservation details synced from the property management system
Files
Files uploaded by you (the property manager)
Files uploaded by the owner
Access
Owner viewers invited to the owner's portal, including their name, email, and status.
Settings
Entity type, contact information, and TIN
Notification settings
Note: The owner portal preview is read-only. You can't block calendar dates, invite viewers, or change settings while previewing.
Don't see Preview owner portal? If the menu shows Owner Portal instead, your team is still on the earlier preview. That version only works for owners who have accepted their invite, and it signs you in as the owner in the same tab.
Managing Owner Portal Access
What owners can see in the portal depends on your Owner Portal settings.
To learn how to configure these settings, see Managing Owner Portal Settings.
Why Use the Owner Portal Preview?
Previewing the Owner Portal helps you:
Check what an owner will see before you invite them
Verify what information owners can access
Troubleshoot owner questions quickly
Ensure statements, calendars, and files appear as expected
