How Reservation Lines are Configured
Reservation lines are fetched from your PMS and act as categories of money. These categories are mapped to general ledger accounts in your accounts list for accounting and reporting purposes. You inherited a default mapping of reservation lines to accounts with a default accounts list when you created a VRTrust account.
Field | Description |
Name | Displays the name of reservation line and the PMS from which it was fetched. |
ID | Displays a unique ID automatically assigned by the system. |
Account | Displays the account from your accounts list to which the reservation line is mapped. The selection made here determines the general ledger account to which the reservation line is recorded.
For example, if the Base Rate reservation line on a reservation fetched from Hostaway is $500 and the Base Rate reservation line is mapped to the Rents account, the system will record $500 to the Rents account in the general ledger.
To exclude a reservation line from your general ledger, select Exclude mapping from the Account dropdown list. |
Revenue Recognition | Displays the revenue recognition option selected for the reservation line. Refer to the Revenue recognition section below to learn about the different recognition options, including how to configure them. |
Map Reservation Lines to Accounts
From the Settings menu, click Reservations to view a list of all reservation lines from your PMS connection, the account to which each is mapped, and the revenue recognition option selected for each reservation line. This list can be filtered by the account to which each reservation is mapped.
