Overview
VRTrust now offers a smoother CSV import workflow across bank records, owners, vendors, expenses, and deposits. Upload a file, map its columns (or select a ready-made preset), preview and correct any issues, and then run the import — with clear, per-row results when it's done.
What you can import
Bank records — generic bank transaction imports for reconciliation.
Owners — including simple listing ownership assignments.
Vendors
Expenses — create-only. Multiple CSV rows sharing the same reference are grouped into a single expense with multiple lines.
Deposits — create-only. Multiple CSV rows sharing the same reference are grouped into a single deposit with multiple lines.
How to import
Go to the import screen for the record type you want (bank records, owners, vendors, expenses, or deposits).
Upload your CSV file.
Map each column to the matching VRTrust field, or select a preset if one matches your file's source.
Review the preview. VRTrust pages through your rows and flags issues before anything is imported — including the specific field and source column behind each flagged row.
Correct any flagged rows in your file and re-upload, or adjust your mapping, until the preview looks right.
Run the import. You'll get a durable, per-row outcome so you can confirm exactly what was created and what, if anything, was skipped.
Built-in safeguards
Duplicate protection — exact-file duplicate imports are automatically detected and blocked, though you can override the block and reimport by providing a reason. Rows that are similar but not identical to existing records are flagged as warnings for your review — they're never automatically merged or silently skipped.
Date format checks — mixed date formats and calendar rollover issues are rejected up front, so you choose the correct format explicitly rather than risk a misread date.
Overlap review — for bank records, projected ending balances and any rows that overlap with an existing bank feed are called out for explicit review before import.
Using a preset
If your file comes from a supported source, you can select a preset instead of mapping columns manually. Presets currently include Stripe and Booking.com export formats, with column mapping handled automatically.
Presets are available for deposit imports only, and require selecting the bank account that the deposits belong to before applying one. Bank records, owners, vendors, and expenses are always mapped manually.
