Reporting Net Income & Management Commission by Unit in VRPlatform
In VRPlatform, owner statements are generated per individual listing — there is no consolidated multi-unit report inside the portal. To get net income and management commission summarized by unit, use the Profit and Loss by Class report in QuickBooks Online, since each listing is set up as a class in QBO.
How to Run the Report
In QBO, go to Reports → Reports
Open the "Profit and Loss by Class" report
Set the date range to the period you want to review, with the end date as the last day of the month
Check whether an UNSPECIFIED column appears:
If it does, some transactions have no class assigned and your per-unit totals will be incomplete
Open each unclassified transaction and assign the correct listing class
If the column does not appear, all transactions are properly classified
Click Export to Excel in the banner above the report
Important Note on Management Commission
The commission will only break out by unit if it is recorded with the listing assigned in the Class field.
If commission is currently recorded as a single amount under the management company's class, the report will show net income by unit — but commission will appear as one combined line with no per-unit breakdown.
To get a full per-unit commission breakdown, ensure each commission transaction is recorded with the corresponding listing class assigned.
