Who This Applies To:
This article is intended for VRTrust users configuring account mappings, fee templates, expenses, deposits, and reservation financial workflows.
VRTrust now includes additional system controls to help enforce cleaner trust accounting workflows and improve reporting consistency throughout the platform.
As part of these updates, users may notice certain account options are now unavailable or greyed out in specific areas of the system.
What Changed
VRTrust now restricts certain account selections and mappings in workflows where the account type would create inaccurate accounting behavior or inconsistent reporting.
These controls have been added across several high-traffic areas, including:
Deposits
Expenses
Fee Templates
Chart of Accounts assignments
Reservation Line Mappings
In these workflows, unavailable account options will appear greyed out and cannot be selected.
Why These Restrictions Exist
These controls are intended to help prevent workflows that could bypass accounting best practices or create reporting issues later in the reconciliation and statement process.
Examples include:
Preventing incompatible account types from being mapped to reservation financial lines
Restricting account selections that would create incorrect trust accounting behavior
Reducing configuration errors that could impact owner statements or reporting accuracy
Enforcing more consistent account usage across operational workflows
These updates help ensure that transactions flow through VRTrust using the appropriate accounting structure from the beginning.
Where Users May Notice These Updates
Users are most likely to see these restrictions in areas where accounts are assigned or financial mappings are configured.
Deposits & Expenses
Certain account options may now be unavailable depending on the transaction type being created.
Fee Templates
Only compatible accounts can now be selected when configuring fee postings and allocations.
Reservation Line Mappings
Unsupported account mappings for PMS financial line types will now appear disabled.
Chart of Accounts Assignments
Some assignment combinations are now restricted to prevent reporting inconsistencies.
What to Do If an Option Is Greyed Out
If an account option appears unavailable, it typically means the selected account is not compatible with that workflow or posting behavior.
In most cases, selecting a different account classification or using the appropriate trust or operational account type will resolve the issue.
These restrictions are intended to guide configuration toward supported accounting workflows and help maintain accurate financial reporting throughout VRTrust.
