Overview
If you see a banner in VRPlatform indicating that payments cannot be processed, it means there are one or more issues that need to be resolved before payments can push to your accounting system (e.g., QuickBooks Online). In some cases, having multiple Airbnb accounts connected to the same listings can also cause duplicate payments. This article walks you through how to fix both problems.
Step 1: Check the Issues List
From your VRPlatform dashboard, click View Issues on the payment error banner.
Look for any row labeled Connection and note the exact error message displayed.
Click Reconnect on that row to begin the reconnection process.
Step 2: Reconnect Your Airbnb Account
Before reconnecting, log out of Airbnb in all other browser windows or tabs.
When prompted, log in to Airbnb using your email and password only β do not use Google, Apple, or phone login options.
After logging in, click the green checkmark in the VRPlatform Connect browser extension.
Select Reconnect Account to complete the process.
Step 3: Verify Payments Can Push to Your Accounting System
If payments still are not pushing to QuickBooks Online (or another accounting system) after reconnecting, check the following:
Make sure your books are not closed for the relevant period, as closed books will block payment pushes.
Confirm that the reconnection completed successfully and no new issues appear in the Issues list.
Fixing Duplicate Payments Caused by Multiple Airbnb Connections
Duplicate payments can occur when the same listings or payouts are accessible by more than one connected Airbnb account (e.g., a primary account and a co-host account both connected to VRPlatform). To resolve this:
Review all Airbnb accounts currently connected in VRPlatform and identify which ones have overlapping access to the same listings or payouts.
Ensure that each listing is only being processed by one Airbnb connection. If co-host accounts are connected, make sure they do not have duplicate access to the same payout listings.
In your accounting system (e.g., QuickBooks Online), locate the duplicate payment entries and delete the duplicates manually.
