Drilldown into underlying data directly from reports in VRTrust

Updated over a week ago

The Trust Reconciliation Report in VRTrust allows you to drill into balances and view the journal entry details behind each amount, without ever leaving the report. This makes it easy to understand exactly what’s driving each balance and quickly navigate to the underlying records.

Open the Trust Reconciliation Report

  1. From the left-hand navigation, click Reports

  2. Select Trust Reconciliation Report

  3. Choose the as-of date you want to review (for example, end of January)

The report will display trust account balances as of the selected date.

Drill Into Journal Entry Details

  1. Scroll to the account you want to review

  2. Click directly on an amount in the report

This opens the Journal Entry Details window, where you can see:

  • Listing

  • Description

  • Account

  • Amount

  • Debit or credit indicator

This view shows the line-level activity contributing to that balance.

Use Filters to Refine Results

At the top of the Journal Entry Details window, you can filter entries by:

  • Status

  • Amount

  • Listing

  • Classification

  • Type and subtype

  • Booking channel

You can also:

  • Export the table

  • Reset filters

  • Adjust view settings

These tools make it easy to focus on exactly what you’re looking for.

Navigate to Linked Records

From the Journal Entry Details window, you can open the source record for each entry.

  • Click the link shown in the Links column

  • Close the journal entry window

  • The related record opens automatically in a side drawer

Depending on the account, links may point to:

  • Reservations

  • Expenses

  • Deposits

For example:

  • Reservation-related entries open the reservation drawer

  • Expense-related revenue accounts link directly to the expense record

  • Deposit-related entries open the associated deposit

Why This Is Useful

  • Review line-level detail without leaving the report

  • Quickly trace balances back to their source records

  • Investigate discrepancies faster

  • Gain confidence in trust balances and reconciliation accuracy

Tip

Different accounts surface different types of links, depending on the underlying activity. This helps ensure you’re always taken to the most relevant record for the balance you’re reviewing.
