Undo matched bank records

Revert actions taken on the bank reconciliation page

Updated over a week ago

When reconciling bank activity, it’s easy to match a transaction too quickly or realize later that something needs to change. VRTrust makes this easy to correct by letting you undo matched bank records.

This article explains how the Undo and Undo All actions work and when to use them.

When to use Undo

Use Undo when:

  • A bank record was matched to the wrong transaction

  • You need to adjust data before re-matching

  • You accepted matches too quickly and want to review them again

Undoing a match simply reverts the transaction back to an unmatched state. No data is deleted.

Undoing a single matched bank record

  1. Go to the Bank Reconciliation page.

  2. After clicking Match, an Undo button appears.

  3. Click Undo.

What happens next:

  • The match is reverted

  • The transaction returns to an unmatched state

  • The Match options become visible again so you can re-match correctly

Undoing multiple matches (Undo All)

If you use Accept all matches during reconciliation:

  1. Click Accept all matches.

  2. Once accepted, the action switches to Undo all.

  3. Click Undo all to revert all matches made in that action.

What happens next:

  • All matched transactions from that action are reverted

  • Each transaction returns to an unmatched state

  • You can review and match them again individually or in bulk

Important notes

  • Undo is available only after a match is made
Once a transaction is matched, the Match buttons are hidden and replaced with Undo options.

  • Undo does not delete data
It only removes the association between the bank record and the matched item.

  • Undo All applies to the most recent bulk action
It’s designed to quickly reverse an “Accept all matches” action if needed.

Best practice tips

  • If you’re unsure about a match, undo it and review the details before re-matching.

  • Use Accept all matches when you’re confident, knowing you can still reverse the action if needed.

  • Undo early—before moving on to other reconciliation steps—for the cleanest workflow.
