This article explains how to edit expense line and payout descriptions on an owner statement to provide clearer context and transparency for owners.
When to Use This
Use this feature when you want to:
Add more detail to maintenance or service charges
Clarify what a specific expense is for
Add more detail to an owner payout line
Improve owner understanding of monthly statements
Open an Owner Statement
Navigate to the Statements page.
Select the owner statement you want to edit.
Edit an Expense Description
Scroll to the Expenses section of the owner statement.
Locate the expense line you want to update.
Click the pencil icon next to the expense description.
Enter the new description.
Click the checkmark to save the changes.
Edit a Payout Description
Scroll to the Payouts section of the owner statement.
Locate the line you want to update.
Click the pencil icon next to the description.
Enter the new description.
Click the checkmark to save the changes.
Note: Descriptions cannot be changed after the books are locked.
Preview the Updated Statement
Preview the owner statement to confirm the updated descriptions appear.
The updated descriptions will be visible to the owner on their statement.
