Use search to match bank transactions

Updated over 2 weeks ago

This article explains how to use the search function to quickly find and match transactions during bank reconciliation in VRTrust.

When to Use This

Use search when:

  • A single bank record (such as a large deposit) is made up of multiple transactions

  • You need to quickly locate transactions by name

  • You want to ensure the total of selected transactions matches the bank record amount

Navigate to Bank Reconciliation

  1. Go to the Bank Reconciliation page.

  2. Select the bank account you want to reconcile.

  3. Locate the bank record you want to match.

Search and Select Transactions

  1. Click Find next to the bank record.

  2. Use the search bar at the top to find transactions by name.

  3. Select the matching transactions.

  4. Repeat the search as needed to find additional transactions.

As you select transactions, they will appear in the selection list at the bottom, along with a running total of the selected amounts.

Match Selected Transactions

  1. Confirm the total selected amount matches the bank record amount.

  2. Click Match Selected Transactions to complete the match.

The bank record will now be reconciled to the selected transactions.

Tips for Accurate Matching

  • Use partial names or keywords in the search bar for faster results.

  • The total amount must match exactly in order to match selected transactions.

  • This method is especially useful for batch payments or deposits.
