How to Integrate OwnerRez with VRTrust

Integrating your OwnerRez property management system (PMS) with VRTrust automates the flow of reservation, payment, and deposit data into your trust accounting system. This integration simplifies trust accounting, improves bank reconciliation, and enables accurate owner and property management financial reporting.


What the Integration Does

Once connected, VRTrust will:

  • Sync reservations created in OwnerRez into VRTrust

  • Pull payment and deposit data from OwnerRez

  • Automate revenue and expense tracking

  • Simplify bank reconciliations

  • Produce accurate owner statements and property management income

  • Enable full trust accounting workflows tied to reservation data

  • Reduce manual journal entries and spreadsheet work


Prerequisites

Before integrating, make sure you have:

  • An active OwnerRez account

  • A VRTrust account (via VRPlatform)

  • Login access for both systems

Connect Your OwnerRez Account

  1. Log in to VRTrust

  2. Add the OwnerRez connection

    • Navigate to the Connections menu

    • Click Add Connection

    • Click Connect next to OwnerRez

  3. Authorize VRPlatform in OwnerRez

    • You’ll be redirected to the OwnerRez login/authorization screen

    • Log in if needed

    • Click Authorize VRPlatform

  4. Confirm the connection

    • After authorization, you’ll be redirected back to VRTrust

    • On the Connections screen, you should now see OwnerRez listed as connected

Importing Existing Data

Once connected, you can fetch reservation and payment data starting from your VRTrust Go-Live date.

  • Navigate to Connections → OwnerRez → Fetch

  • VRTrust will import reservation, payment, and deposit data from OwnerRez

  • This typically begins on the 1st day of your go-live month

What Data Is Transferred

When OwnerRez is integrated with VRTrust:

  • Reservations are pulled from OwnerRez into VRTrust

  • Payments and Deposits are synced and used for trust accounting

  • Reservations become the basis for owner and PM financial statements

  • Deposits feed bank reconciliation and trust balances

Next Steps After Integration

After your OwnerRez connection is established and initial data is fetched:

  1. Confirm reservations and payments appear in VRTrust

  2. Set up Reservation Mappings for fees and tax line types

  3. Review Owner and PM fee templates (cleaning, channel, merchant, cancellation)

  4. Run a Trial Balance to confirm your accounts balance correctly

  5. Finalize owner and PM statements


Troubleshooting & Support

If you experience issues during connection or data sync:

  • Confirm your OwnerRez login credentials are correct

  • Ensure you authorize VRPlatform when redirected

  • Check that your VRTrust Go-Live date aligns with your intended data import range

If problems persist, contact VRTrust support or your onboarding specialist.
