Update expenses via CSV

Key Steps

1. Open the Expense Import Template 0:03

  • Locate and open the expense import template that you initially imported.

  • Identify the specific expense you want to change.

2. Locate the Bill ID 0:21

  • Find the Bill ID associated with the expense you wish to update.

  • Note that the Bill ID is a unique reference for each expense transaction.

Note: The Bill ID field acts as a unique expense transaction reference ID.

3. Update Values in the Template 0:34

  • Change the values in the columns you want to update in the template.

  • Ensure that you enter the same Bill ID as the expense you want to modify.

4. Re-import the CSV File 0:48

  • Save the updated CSV file.

  • Re-import the CSV file into VR Trust.

  • The existing expense transaction will be overwritten with the new values you entered.

5. Verify the Update 1:00

  • Check the expense account to confirm that it has been updated to reflect your desired changes.

Cautionary Notes

  • Always double-check the Bill ID to ensure you are updating the correct expense.

  • Make sure to save a backup of the original CSV file before making changes.
