How Accounting Partner Billing Works

Accounting Partner discount tiers, partner-billed vs. direct-billed teams, and team subscription minimums

Accounting Partners earn volume-based discounts on their client teams' subscriptions. This article explains how the discount tiers work, the difference between partner-billed and direct-billed teams, and how subscriptions are structured for teams on a partner's console.

Partner-Billed vs. Direct-Billed Teams

Every client team on an Accounting Partner's console is set up as either partner-billed or direct-billed. This determines how the team is billed, and whether it counts toward the partner's discount.

Who's invoiced

The Accounting Partner is billed by VRPlatform for this team's subscription.

VRPlatform bills the client team directly.

Counts toward discount tier

Yes — this team's listings are added to the partner's total.

No.

Receives partner discount

Yes — the partner's current tier discount is applied to this team's subscription.

No — billed at standard rates.

Only partner-billed teams affect (and benefit from) the discount tier. Direct-billed client teams on a partner's console are billed at standard VRPlatform rates and are not included when calculating the partner's total listing count.

Discount Tiers

The partner discount is based on the combined listing count across all of a partner's partner-billed teams. As that total grows, the partner moves into a higher discount tier, and the discount is applied to every partner-billed team's subscription.

Example: An Accounting Partner manages three partner-billed client teams — 50, 150, and 300 listings — for a combined total of 500 listings. That falls in the 251–500 tier, so the partner receives a 30% discount, applied to each of those three teams' subscriptions.

Each Team Has Its Own Subscription

As of October 1st, 2026, every client team on an Accounting Partner's console has its own individual subscription, sized to that team's own listing count. The partner discount tier (if applicable) is applied to each partner-billed team's subscription individually.

Subscription Minimums

Teams onboarded under an Accounting Partner have a lower minimum than teams that sign up directly:

  • 4 listings minimum per subscription for a team on an Accounting Partner's console.

  • 25 listings minimum for a property manager signing up directly with VRPlatform (not through a partner).
